Summer & After School Programs

After-school and summer programs are meant to help students and their families after school and/or during the summer. This entails a collaborative effort between home and school to ensure pupils' academic performance, co-curricular interests, and the entire family's well-being.

Our college trips are one of our most popular summer activities. Our tours to colleges are unlike any other. We've elevated college visits to a new level, and each tour offers that group a unique experience. These after-school and summer programs include numerous components:

  • Tutoring/homework assistance

  • Supplemental instruction in the following area: Fine Arts, Physical Fitness, Health & Wellness, Career & Technical Education, Science & Technology & more

  • Sports tournaments, e-sports tournaments, and visual performing arts

  • And a lot more

Our student/parent tours allow students and parents to journal, discuss, and exchange knowledge about each school and the larger community. Each visit includes transcript assessments, discussions with admissions, clubs, and more. 1 Direction seeks to promote the health and well-being of children, youth, their families, and their communities by providing more in-person support, guidance, and assistance in choosing the right direction.

Tutoring/Mentorship

1 Direction tutors have a thorough understanding of the topic. They are dedicated to assisting kids in being the best they can be for the rest of their lives. Tutoring is offered and available for students K-12. We include academic standards established by each state in our tutoring to construct the student's learning plan. This will ensure the student's academic growth receives the most advantage.

We seek to increase the student's learning and eagerness to learn. In welcoming programs accessible at the classroom, site, district, and county levels, we seek to provide student-centered, transformative experiences that proactively increase student learning. Students are empowered, encouraged, and supported by our committed, compassionate, and competent instructors and staff.

Our tutors are dedicated to helping students achieve academic success by assisting them in intellectual growth, the development of excellent oral and writing communication skills, and the development of the self-esteem needed to become confident, autonomous learners.

Parent Engagement

1 Direction Parent Engagement Program is aimed at involving parents in meaningful and diverse ways. It brings together parents from all walks of life to support a shared goal: helping their children and schools flourish. Our program involves:

  • Parents involvement in student's educational journey

  • Empowering parents to work with districts in decision-making that will affect all students

  • Parent workshops including, but not limited to student athletes, college planning, paying for college & financial aid

  • Encourage parents to speak up in favor of a complete and quality education that includes the arts.

We help increase parents' understanding of the importance of their role as their child's first teacher, why involvement in their child's education is critical and encourages the continuation of learning at home through activities such as virtual meetings, workshops, conferences, campus visits/overnight visits, and parent/staff events, among others.

Professional Development

Our professional development programs demonstrate our dedication to meeting educators and school employees' continuous professional learning requirements and our faculty and staff's major contribution to the quality of K-12 education.

Our professional development focuses on supporting educators in urban communities and schools, combining foundational knowledge and professional skill with the belief that a rich educational experience requires even more – an integration of the arts, a well-honed social and historical sensibility, a relentless focus on equity, and the pursuit of both children and adults' social, emotional, and physical well-being.

Student-Athlete Mentor Program

The Student-Athlete Mentor program helps student-athletes balance life as a student and life as an athlete. The needs of Student-Athletes differ from their peers and we provide resources and support targeted toward those specific needs. When Student-Athletes work hard in the classroom and on their craft, they're able to see and feel results.

The program is designed to produce well-rounded collegiate and professional athletes by concentrating on connection building, character development, and college and career route discovery. Academically accomplished Student-Athlete Mentors present the curriculum.

The program incorporates:

  • Problem-solving, creative & critical thinking, and leadership skills

  • Navigating college options (i.e. Division 1, Division 2 , Division 3)
